Quality Gippsland Venison

Hartdale Park is a 72 acre irrigated deer farm located on the edge of the foothills at Boisdale, just 10 minutes out of Maffra, in East Gippsland, Victoria. It began as a small stud and, whilst still retaining a small number of registered, pure bred animals, has developed into a larger commercial operation and produces quality venison, velvet antler and sales of live animals, including sire stags, velvet stags, stud hinds, commercial hinds and weaners.
 
Hartdale Park is currently home to a herd of 175 red deer that has been built up over the past seven years by the owners, David and Rose Laird, using some of the best red deer genetics available. It is currently undergoing further development and numbers will continue to increase over the next few years.

As part of our program to ensure economic viability, Hartdale Park has developed its own branded venison which is sold at Farmers Markets in St Kilda, Yarra Glen, Pakenham, Nunawading, Sale, Inverloch and Traralgon. Hartdale Park venison has also been served in some of the best local restaurants and is available at selected quality outlets. We were also proud to be recognised as winners of the Bendigo Bank Gippsland Business Awards – Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry category in 2007.

To ensure maximum tenderness and effective quality control we raise our own animals and then individually select the prime red deer that have had free-range access to the lush irrigated pastures.  We then oversee the entire processing chain from beginning to end. From ‘paddock to plate’ is a reality when you buy Hartdale Park venison!

Our aim is to have venison readily available on the domestic market at reasonable prices as a healthy and lean alternative to the more traditional red meats.
